IRVING, Texas
IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vizient, Inc. today expressed concern with the budget request submitted by President Trump for fiscal year 2019. The budget request proposes hundreds of billions of dollars in reductions to Medicare and Medicaid programs over 10 years.
Vizient believes that the effects of the proposed reductions in funding would jeopardize the financial viability of the health care members it serves and negatively impact access to care for vulnerable, low-income patients and communities. Additionally, Vizient believes the Administration’s proposal to alter Medicare payment policies for hospitals participating in the 340B program raises serious concerns about the future of this vital program for safety-net hospitals and their patients.
We urge the Administration and Congress to protect funding for Medicare, Medicaid, and other programs that help health care providers ensure all patients and communities have access to the vital services they need.
Vizient is the nation’s largest health care performance improvement company serving a diverse membership that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health care delivery networks and non-acute health care providers.
