IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Earlier this year, VHA Inc. and UHC announced that they were merging their organizations, including Novation, to create the largest member-owned health care company in the country. Today, the company announces the combined organization’s new name—Vizient, Inc. Beginning in January 2016, the combined organization will officially align under the Vizient brand.

The new name represents the full capabilities of the combined organization, from supply chain expertise to forward-thinking insights into cost and quality performance. The comprehensive products, services and expertise of Vizient will help members significantly improve their financial, clinical and operational performance and achieve greater value for patients and communities.
Nonomaque added, “We recognize that the ever increasing demands in our country to improve health care performance require advanced thinking, smarter analytics and collaboration to drive best practices. Vizient is ready to address these challenges in a manner that meets the individual needs of our members.”
