IRVING, Texas
VHA Inc., the national health care network, today announced that Terri Scannell, VHA director of corporate citizenship and sustainability, delivered the keynote presentation at The University of Dallas Business and Society Network’s event “How Companies Profit from Measuring Sustainability Performance.” The event was held on April 11 at the Haggar University Center on the University of Dallas campus.
“VHA is uniquely positioned as a leader in improving the health and sustainability of our own community, as well as in guiding health care institutions nationwide in the development and implementation of their own sustainability initiatives,” said Scannell. “It was exciting to have the opportunity to deliver the keynote presentation at this event, and further the understanding of how the health care industry is addressing this important issue.”
In addition to providing the keynote presentation, Scannell also participated in a panel discussion with Jean-Michel Fally, principal with Deloitte Consulting and Crystal L. Stutes, sustainability specialist at Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Inc. The panelists discussed how their organizations use methods such as the Global Reporting Initiative to measure sustainability, outcomes they expect to achieve, and the tangible and intangible benefits of their respective sustainability reporting strategies.
