IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vizient, Inc. is pleased to announce that Daniel Kistner, PharmD., senior vice president, pharmacy services has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review in their “Rising Stars in Healthcare 2017”, an elite group of healthcare professionals under the age of 40 who have achieved professional excellence in healthcare.

Kistner joined Vizient in 2016 through the acquisition of MedAssets SCM business in 2016. He has oversight for a comprehensive pharmacy program that connects analytics, strategic sourcing, clinical programs and field based pharmacists into a single team, while setting the strategic direction to ensure that Vizient members maximize value by utilizing the industry’s leading GPO pharmacy program. He has led teams to promote clinical and financial optimization, which has yielded more than $1 billion in combined savings for various healthcare organizations.
Kistner has earned the Pharmacy Preceptor of the Year award from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and in his first year with Vizient he established the GPO PGY-2 Informatics Residency, a program that provides graduated pharmacists both professional and learning opportunities.
