Five Hospitals Receive Awards for Excellence in Sustainability from VHA Inc.
IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--VHA Inc., which recently combined with UHC to form the largest member-owned health care company in the country, today announced the presentation of its 2015 Excellence Awards for Sustainability to five member health care systems for their achievements over the course of 2014. The awards were presented on Thursday, May 14 during VHA’s Navigating to Excellence Forum in Las Vegas.

VHA’s Excellence Awards for Sustainability recognize member hospitals who demonstrated focus and commitment to sustainability practices through the implementation of a new program with measurable success.
The winners were:
- Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis.
- Oakwood Healthcare System in Dearborn, Mich.
- Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial in Fremont, Mich.
- ThedaCare in Appleton, Wis.
- Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Conn.
VHA’s annual member conference brings health care delivery experts and leading health care systems together to share best practices and learn about innovative solutions that can help improve clinical quality and performance.
