As hospitals across the country continue to face ongoing I.V. solutions shortages, Novation, the leading health care supply chain expertise, analytics and contracting company, is holding an I.V. Solutions Symposium today in Dallas, Texas.
I.V. saline solutions, commonly used throughout hospitals to treat dehydration, are now expected to be in short supply through the end of the year.
The Novation symposium is designed to provide hospitals with additional strategies that they can employ during the shortages, and the latest information on how suppliers and distributors are managing the issue. The symposium includes the industry’s I.V. solution suppliers, hospital supply chain, clinical and pharmacy professionals, as well as representatives from the University of Utah Drug Information Service and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition, a panel of pharmacy and medical/surgical distributors will tackle questions on allocations, industry outlook and how distributors and hospitals can work together with Novation to manage their I.V. solutions supply.
