IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vizient, Inc. today announced it is accepting applications from health care startup companies interested in competing in its fifth annual Innovation Challenge, which takes place Sept. 13 as part of the 2017 Vizient Clinical Connections Summit in Denver. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, July 28.
The Innovation Challenge is an interactive competition that offers a unique opportunity for health care startup companies with compelling solutions aimed at solving health care’s toughest strategic, care delivery or operational challenges. Startup companies should be revenue producing but still in the early growth stage.
Mike Maddock, entrepreneur, innovator and author, will serve as emcee for the competition. Each finalist will deliver a five-minute product pitch then answer questions from an expert panel that includes a Vizient member, a venture capitalist and the 2016 Innovation Challenge winner, 3Derm. At the conclusion of the presentations, the audience of roughly 2,000 health care professionals attending the 2017 Vizient Clinical Connections Summit will vote for their favorite innovation using real-time polling technology. The company receiving the most votes will be named winner of the 2017 Innovation Challenge.
“The Innovation Challenge is an interactive and entertaining format that introduces our members to some of the most compelling product solutions developed to improve the delivery of care,” said Byron Jobe, president, Vizient’s chief administrative and financial officer. “This event underscores Vizient’s commitment to being a champion for bringing innovation to health care.”
